Property taxes in Colorado Springs—how do you pay them, calculate them, and dispute them?

Colorado has some of the lowest taxes in the United States. They are calculated based on the county assessor's opinion of the home’s value multiplied by the assessment percentage and the tax rate.

Property taxes in Colorado are paid in arrears and are due on April 15. You can actually find all of this information and more on your local county assessor's website, whether you’re in El Paso, Teller, Douglas, or Denver County. If you disagree with your home’s assessed value, most assessor’s offices have an online protest process, which is very simple and easy.

You can protest your property taxes online.
